Air Cannon
Academic Work
2017
In an independent research project, I optimized an ‘Air Cannon’ for mobile robots. The Air Cannon produces a propagating vortex via 6 synchronously pulsed subwoofers in an air chamber and a nozzle. I researched nozzle designs and modified the nozzle geometry using CAD and 3D printing. I also optimized the subwoofer pulse scheme with MATLAB and the Arduino IDE. To analyze the device, I attached a laser sight to the Air Cannon and created testing procedures and metrics.
