For this Interior Design Studio I project, a rigid structure composed entirely of basswood, glue, and paper was required to span 24” while supporting a 2 lb. brick. This project explored tension and compression in the structure’s role as a bridge and space and enclosure in its role as a dwelling. The structure design was based on the connections found in a similar structure created using Zometool.
